Nanoparticles could be used to combat fatal bacteria

Reading news from cnet.com and there is an article about Nano-particles that can be used to MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus).  What the Nano-particles would do is rip open cell wall and membranes of bacteria using electrostatic interaction which the north pole from the Nano-particles meets the south pole of the bacterium and goes after the microbe's charge.  A fluid system will disrupt the membrane and tear it open.  The strange thing about this is that IBM research is behind the with the help of its Singapore partners.  Other application are being thought of as well being used in deodorants, mouthwash, bandages, and catheters.
